This bobcat has been plaguing our neighborhood for about 6 weeks. It took down three goats, multiple chickens, turkeys, rabbits (4 of mine) and who knows what else. He had gotten pretty bold. He came into our pen about 1:30 at night. I screamed at him and scared him off. But he came right back and was chasingour rabbits around. Gary had me keep its attention while he shot it. When Gary talked with Game and Fish about how bold and brazen it was, they were concerned with it having rabies. Especially with all of the positive rabies in bobcats in the last month. They told Gary that last year was a record high year for rabies and so far this year in April we had already tripled the rabies reports. So Gary took the head in (after he skinned it) and frozen to the state health department and they tested it. They told Gary they had not ever had one so big before. Good news - NO RABIES! NO SHOTS!
Gary has the hide all skinned with the tail and paws on it. Off to the taxidermist he goes
